javascript css effects prototype scriptaculous
Create fading slideshows out of graphics or HTML elements. These elements are loaded when needed, so the page size remains as small as possible. Uses Prototype and Scriptaculous for compatibility with Freeway Pro’s built-in effects.
The working style is similar to Carousel: you lay out an element where you want the effect to appear, then create as many other elements the same size elsewhere on the pasteboard or page margins, marked out with the ScriptyFader Option Action. All of these elements are removed from the page and saved as separate “partial” files.
You may set the time between options in seconds, or leave it at 0 for no automatic changing. If you leave it at 0, you must use either the ScriptyFader Thumbnail or ScriptyFader Text Tabs Action to provide navigation between options.
You can create direct navigation using the ScriptyFader Thumbnail Action. Apply this to a graphic box, and choose the Fader and Option using the Actions palette.

After installing the scriptyfader action i get a message telling me that the the "Action is not correctly terminated"
it keeps appearing after reinstalling and rebooting freeway.
Any idea on how i can fix this?
thank you Eyal.

Are you sure you have the latest version of the Action? Also, what version of Freeway are you using?
Phil Moreton
Is it possible that we can get a step by step of how to use this action? As i'm a bit lost to be honest. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'm getting a sporadic glitch after an image fades in where it disappears for a split second before reappearing. Is this a known issue and is there a fix for it?
Are there any plans for providing the ability to add previous/next buttons?

Is there a version of this available that is compatible with Freeway 6?
Newton La Scaleia
For me also not working in Freeway 6!!!!

Count me in with the users who cannot get this action to function properly in Freeway 6. I have tried everything that I know, including pasting objects from a Freeway Pro 5X site.

Can you make a one-page example site, entirely from scratch, and zip the Freeway document and post it somewhere that I can download it? I can't reproduce this problem here – it just works in Freeway 6.

Is there any way to have the first image of the slideshow to appear immediately as the page loads?
If I place a Graphic Item in the HTML box that has the SrciptyFader Action applied, when published the Graphic Item doesn't stay within the confines of the HTML box. The rest of the slide show images show properly though, until the cycle reaches the first slide.
To get around this, I have placed the Graphic Item as a Layer immediately underneath the HTML box, so that something shows when the page launches. However, this image appears slightly when the slides fade during the transitions. You can see the effect here: http://test.advancedbarefoot.com
Is there any way around this issue?
Thanks.

Will this work with Freeway 7? It's not working for me at the moment, neither is Fading Slideshow or Carousel 2. Could it be because I'm using Pass Through images?
Walter Davis
This is because of using an inline image, not necessarily a pass-through image. It should work with a drawn-in-place image, or with an HTML box that has the image set as it's background.

Ok. Drew an html box, set picture as background and applied the ScriptyFader action and set timer interval. Drew a Graphic item imported second picture and applied ScriptyFader Option action. The ScriptyFader picture showed and faded to white. When I set the width to Fixed% it disappeared altogether. I tried again drawing a second html box and setting the second picture as a background to that and applied the option action - no change. Am I missing something?

Thought I'd sussed it - I downloaded latest version but now I just get the first image fading in and out of white

Not sure if I am using this action in an incorrect way or if there an easy fix for my situation.
I am using SF to go between different html items with text and graphic within each item. When I update or edit the text within the html item the updates don't follow through. I am guessing it's because these pieces are held out of the site code. Is there a way to make sure that off-site code is regenerated and updated? Can I find them and erase them to force SF to rebuild them? Do I have to absolutely manually rebuild those fading items? Any suggestions? I am very much a novice so I appreciate the help. aac
