javascript css effects prototype scriptaculous

This Action allows you to “stick” an element on the screen in an unusual way. If the element is “above the fold”, such that it appears within the browser when the page loads, it stays put there until you scroll the browser window far enough for it to move out of the browser window. Once it reaches that point, it is “stuck” in place 10px below the top of the window, and never appears to move beyond that point.

There are shims in the Action to account for Internet Explorer and MobileSafari, neither of which allow for the Position: Fixed CSS attribute.

This Action may only be applied to a CSS-positioned Layer element, either a stand-alone layer, or a nested layer (CSS checkbox checked). If you are using Freeway 5.5’s RPL on the same page, be sure to experiment with the Remove from RPL Action on the “stuck” element as well.

This action is Great! I could really go overboard with this one! A great addition would be a "bottom of the page" parameter. That way, one could use a floating footer. That aside, this a great Action. Thank you.

Sticker is awesome! Just added to a client's site and it was working great…until today. Something changed and now I can't apply the action without getting a javascript error. I'm applying it to a standalone layer. Thoughts?

Fixed it! I forgot to clear the errors.

Working great in computer browsers and on my iPad! However, on an iphone it is stickily horizontally as well as vertically, keeping in the screen over the main column of type, not keeping to the left column where it is meant to appear. Any fixes? Am using 0.6.2 with Freeway 5.5. It is applied to the 2nd level navigation: an HTML layer item inside the light green column: a layer graphic item.

Meant to give you this URL: http://www.brockmanfamilyfarming.com/our-farms/henrys-farm-why-size-matters.html

Shouldn't write these late at night: the graphic item is not a parent item: it is merely a lower layer.

You're going to have to fiddle with the mobile browser settings in Freeway – if the setting is device-width, make it auto, or vice-versa.

Walter, can you have a look at http://freewaytalk.net/thread/view/155385 from DeltaDave's post on Nov 1 onwards regarding the Sticker action?

Thanks a lot, Iain
